As demand for renewable energy technology increases, the UK Government has set up a certification scheme that recognises both quality equipment and professional installers called the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

Consumers and Businesses using products certified under this scheme, installed by MCS approved installers can take advantage of significant financial incentives for generating their own power and for feeding power back into the national grid.

Manufacturers who enter products into this scheme therefore have powerful competitive advantage for their customers over those that don’t as their products can save (and even make - in some cases) money for their clients.

Intertek is now UKAS accredited as an MCS Certification Body enabling manufacturers of Microgeneration products to apply for Intertek MCS Certification for:

• Solar Collectors (MCS-004)
• Solar Photo Voltaic (MCS-005)
• Micro and Small Wind Turbines (MCS-006)
• Heat Pumps (MCS-007)
